Les had to head down to California on business for a few days . . . travel sure is easier when you have views like this to keep you company.

In addition to the biscuits and gravy I made for birthday breakfast, Les also go birthday cookies this year - complete with candles.

Parker had mentioned that we should have a flag hanging at our house.  So Les picked one up at Fred Meyer's and he and Parker installed it, just in time for Memorial Day.

While Parker was having a sleep over with his cousins, Les, Kaitlyn & I braved the Ikea store and bought a set up bunk beds for the kids (and loaded the car during a thunder storm!).  I was convinced it would only take a couple of hours to set up, but it was well past midnight when when finally finished.  Kaitlyn had fallen asleep on the bottom bunk and we ended up assembling the top bunk right above her as she slept - that girl can sleep through anything.

Day 1245

Kelly came downtown for a hair cut (Super cute!) and met Audrey and me at Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch.  It was a nice chance to catch up on all the gossip, without having the children running around.

First the upstairs toilet gets clogged and now the wax seal on the downstairs toilet is leaking.  Thankfully this is something that Les knows how to fix.  Once again, I am very thankful I have a handy husband.

Les and Job attended Roger Waters The Wall concert at the Portland Rose Garden.  The picture was taken during intermission and you can see the wall being built behind them on the stage.  This checked another item of Les' list of "Concerts I Must See", because this was as close to Pink Floyd as possible.

It was Kaitlyn's turn to attend a Portland Timbers game with Daddy.  She did really well, although she was ready to leave before the game was over.  She had a good time though because she said she wanted to go again.

After dinner we stopped by Fred Meyer's and picked up some flowers for the pot out on the front deck.  Parker and Kaitlyn chose all the flowers and helped Les plant them.  They also picked the ugliest dog statue to stand guard over the flowers - Les just couldn't say no and I think it will keep burglers away because of is crazy eyes.

Day 1238

Kaitlyn got a "I am the little sister" present for Parker's birthday and it was the Dora Dance game for the Wii.  Both kids have had a good time playing it - however, Parker gets pretty grumpy when Kaitlyn does better.  We are going to have to work on our good sportsmanship.

I took a day off work so I could chaperon Parker's field trip to the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Gardens.  In addition to Parker, I had two buddies: Auggie and Dylan.  We had a great time running around trying to find all the items on our scavenger hunt.  However, I was very glad that I didn't have triplets, because they were a handful.

Book fair time at KinderCare, no one was surprised when Parker choose a Lego Star Wars book to buy.

After work, Les headed over to the poker club and worked up quite a stack of chips.

Before taking the cousins home, Les took everyone to Field's Bridge Park to play a little baseball.  Which means I had the house to myself for a few hours on Mother's Day - exactly what I wanted.

For Parker's birthday, Les took him and his cousins to Bullwinkle's Family Fun Center for an afternoon adventure.  Afterwards they came home for ice cream sundaes and slept in a tent pitched out on the back deck.

Before dropping Kaitlyn off at KinderCare, I snapped this quick photo of us in the rear view mirror.

After another one of Parker's games, we headed to Fuddrucker's for dinner.  While the family gorged themselves on peanuts, I snapped some pictures of their happy smiles.

It might be hard to tell with this picture but here is Pitcher Parker throwing out the runner at first base!  Parker loves the pitcher position because about 75% of the ball are hit there and he likes to be able to make the play.

Pam, Jan and I treated ourselves to mani-pedis at lunch time today.  It's been a time since I done that and it was luxurious.

It's been so muddy at Parker's t-ball games and practices, I had to get myself a pair of rubber boots.  Kaitlyn was very proud that I choose a purple pair, because that is her favorite color.
