Kaitlyn is such a good helper.  She washed all of the dishes practically by herself.  I can only hope this practice continues even through her teen years.

Before heading out for our Labor Day camping trip, Parker had an open house at his school.  We picked up his school supplies and then visited his classroom and met his teacher.  I can't believe he is starting First Grade!

Parker's first soccer practice at Willamette Park.  There are eight kids on his team and two of them were in Parker's kindergarten class last year.  The coach seems like he has got a lot of patience and a sense of humor - both of which should serve him well.

Parker had a bit of a melt down at bedtime today.  He eventually feel asleep with his head nearly hanging off the bed.

I am almost out of perfume, so I snapped this photo so that I could actually remember the name of the fragrance that I've been using.  Les is always so good a picking out just the right scent - I may just have to have him get me something new.

We headed over to the Robinwood splash park where we were joined by the Averetts for some mid-morning shenanigans.  A certain little sister thought that painting mud all over her belly would be fun and the boys just laughed and encouraged her.

The Averett family joined us for our usual Friday night dinner.  Between the iPhone and the Pokemon cards, the boys kept themselves entertained and even managed to eat their dinner.

Another field trip for Parker (and another bad photo from school).  This Thursday was a trip to the bowling alley and Parker had so much fun.

Wednesday is bath night for me.  I got this great bath rack at Costco years ago and I still use it to hold all my bath products.

Tuesdays are $5.00 movie nights at the Regal in Oregon City, so Carrie and I went to see ParaNorman.  It was a great movie.  I made Carrie stay through the end of the credits because a sister of a friend works with the accounting department of the movie studio that made the movie and I wanted to see her name in the credits.

The whole crew from our camping adventure.  It was so nice to be with people who knew had to do everything the "right" way.  When you are setting up a tarp after midnight because it has started raining, you really want these people with you.  Next year, two nights!

The kids and I went on a camping adventure with some old friends from Girl Scout camp.  Our campsite was a bit of a scramble from the Clackamas River but once down we had a great time wading and throwing rocks and watching the kayakers approach the rapids.

When of my favorite things about Carrie is that she is always willing to play games with the kids (especially when I am less than enthusiastic).  Toy Story Operation?  Sure! Let's play.

Okay this is an awful picture - it is actually a photo of a printed picture that came home with Parker from school.  But that is Parker with a SNAKE around his neck.  The had some special guests at daycare today.

After a half day of training, I hopped on a plane and was treated to this lovely view of Mt. Hood as we were preparing to land.  Welcome home indeed.

Me in my hotel room in Denver, off to meet my fellow trainees for breakfast then head over to training.

I had to travel to Denver for a work training and, even though this picture doesn't do it justice, the sunset in was spectacular.

The kids and I joined up with Ian and Jennifer for Art in the Park down at Mary S. Young.  We wandered around, the kids got to play electronic drums and then it was snack time.  Afterwards we went up to their house for a run through the sprinklers.

Les, Kaitlyn and I drove up to Chehalis to meet up with Parker and the Deemers.  We spent the day out on the lake and drove home after dinner.

Another sad face for Kaitlyn because Miss Carrie had to miss dinner.  However, a smile followed when she realized that Carrie would come over after dinner.

Parker headed out camping with the Deemers and so Kaitlyn got to go to Bunko with me and enjoyed playing Angry Birds on her phone on the ride downtown.

Les had a field trip today!  With all sorts of guest in town, his company hosted a tour of several vineyards in the Willamette Valley.

Parker had a field trip to the Trout Farm today and he caught one!  Uncle Andy has promised to come over and grill it for us.

When I root, I root for the Timbers!  Les and Job enjoyed the Sunday afternoon game.

Kaitlyn created a nest in the living room where she played contentedly all morning.

Now that our year of free insurance is up on the Traverse, we are switching coverage to bundle with all our other coverage.  I needed to know the mileage and snapping a photo was the best way to get the number.

A new lens for my camera - Parker will be starting on his soccer team at the end of the month, so I needed a longer lens.  Can't wait to give it a try.
