So 2008 ended on a sad note. One of our cats passed away, quite suddenly. Although "Lady" was actually her name, we never called her that. It was, of late, Deedee or Deedle. Here name went through so many variations over the years. My favorite thing about her was that she would fetch caps from the tops of water bottles (or beer bottles for that matter). I remember waking up many a nights with her sitting on my chest after dropping a bottle cap on my face. Quickly we learned not to throw it off the bed, she'd just bring it back again. What I'll miss most is how she used to sleep on my pillow, wrapped around my head & purring me to sleep.Wednesday, December 31, 2008

Day Three

Every day that the kids go to day care, we have to pack their lunches. They are not even in school yet and I already hate packing lunches. It's usually late at night right before I am going to bed when I realize that I have, yet again, forgotten to pack the lunches. Les & I usually split lunch making duties (although it is a bit closer to 60/40 that Les will admit), so that makes it only 1/2 as annoying. I can only hope that kindergarten will have hot lunches served at school.

Day Two
Parker's favorite toy right now is his Mickey Mouse Clubhouse play set - which he got from Santa for Christmas. He is so protective of it that it has to be played with at the dining room table where Kaitlyn cannot reach it. (He's been known to knock Kaitlyn over & wack her with the action figures if she tries to play with it.) He knows how all of the levers and buttons work & will continually play the "Hotdog Dance" song over and over.

Day One

This is what I like to think of as Kaitlyn's "crafty minion" face. As in, she is one of Satan's crafty minions - you just know she's about to do something evil. My mother would admonish me not to call my children evil and, okay, they are not. But at the very least they are too smart for their own good (or maybe they are too smart for MY own good.) Still . . . it's always going to be entertaining to watch what she's going to do next.
365
Here is the plan. Everyday post one photo & write a little something about it. After 365 days, I'll have a record of what has happened in the year 2009.
Here is the reality. Attempt to at least take a photo everyday. Then, hopefully, once a week post the photos & write a little something about them.
I am starting with 12/28 because it's a Sunday & that way if I miss a couple days, I'll still end up with 365. Here we go.
