Our second stop was in Juneau, Alaska, where Carrie, Mindy & I went on a Harv & Marv whale watching excursion. (Kaitlyn stayed on the boat in the excellent daycare facilities). In addition to all of the whales we saw . . . I met a man who had his face ripped off my a bear!!! And by met, I mean we rescued him from the ocean, he joined us for some whale watching, told us about the time he had his face torn off and then we dropped him off at his boat once the Coast Guard located it. I had rented a zoom lens for the occasion and Carrie was able to snap this great photo of a humpback whale breaching. Before heading back to the ship, we stopped at the Mendenhall Glacier and met up with Kay who had moved to Juneau a few weeks prior.Saturday, July 10, 2010
